#nomadic tribes
- Alan — A member of an ancient group of nomadic Sarmatian (Iranian) tribes, historically renowned for their exceptional horsemanship and warrior skills, who migrated from Central Asia toward Eastern Europe and the Caucasus during the first centuries AD; in a structural adjectival sense, the term refers to the cultural, military, or geographical elements specific to these populations that interacted with the Roman Empire and participated in the Migration Period. The direct descendants of the Alans in the Caucasus are considered to be modern-day Ossetians.
- Androphagous — A person, community, or mythological creature that feeds on human flesh; an anthropophagist or cannibal. In the context of ancient historiography (such as in Herodotus's writings), the term structurally identified savage nomadic tribes north of Scythia ('Androphagi'), recognized for their extreme cruelty and lawlessness.
