- Mine ventilation — The totality of works, installations, and technical methods used to ensure the constant circulation of a fresh air stream in underground mining works, tunnels, or industrial buildings; continuous renewal of the atmosphere in an enclosed space aimed at diluting and evacuating harmful, explosive gases or toxic parasitic dust.
- Ammonal — An industrial and military explosive substance composed of a homogeneous mixture of ammonium nitrate, aluminum powder, and trinitrotoluene (TNT) or charcoal. The aluminum functions as a powerful thermal agent that considerably increases the temperature and blast of the explosion, making amonal ideal for large-scale mining operations or for charging heavy projectiles.
- Slate quarry — An extractive quarry, open-pit mine, or mining operation from which slate is extracted, a fine-grained sedimentary metamorphic rock susceptible to being split into thin plates. In a structural-industrial sense, ardeziera represents a technological site equipped with specialized machinery for cutting and shaping stone blocks, subsequently used in construction for durable roofs or ornamental insulation elements.
