#microscopic structure
- Aletocite — An extremely specialized scientific term or neologism used in experimental cell biology to describe a hypothetical or structurally modified blood cell, in an early stage of development or lacking specific granulations. In an extended academic sense, it can refer to a cytoplasmic component analyzed in controlled culture media.
- Amyliform — Having the shape, appearance, or structure of a starch granule; morphologically resembling starch. In cell biology and microscopy, the term describes cytoplasmic inclusions, plastids, or macromolecular formations that display concentric layers or a configuration similar to that of native starch grains.
- Asci — The plural form of the noun 'ascus'; microscopic reproductive cells specific to fungi of the class Ascomycetes, having the appearance of elongated sacs or tubes. Inside these cellular structures, following the process of meiosis followed by mitosis, ascospores (usually eight) are formed, ensuring the dissemination and perpetuation of the species in the environment.
