- Anamorphism — A phenomenon of structural transformation or evolution encountered in geology and optics. In geology and metamorphism, it represents the process of complex reconstruction or transformation of minerals under the action of high pressures and elevated temperatures deep within the Earth's crust, leading to the formation of more stable and denser chemical compounds from simpler substances. In optics, the term describes a controlled geometric distortion or a special optical projection through which an image is intentionally deformed in one direction.
