#metacriticism
- Metacriticism — A theoretical writing, essay, or trend in literary history that combats, critically analyzes, or dismantles the methods, verdicts, and principles of established literary criticism; criticism of criticism (metacritique). As an adjective, it represents the feminine form of 'anticritic', describing a retort, position, or aesthetic demonstration directed against official commentators.
- Anticriticism — A doctrinal current or theoretical manifestation identical to metacriticism; a set of arguments, essays, or philosophical stances through which writers and artists challenge the validity, authority, and hermeneutic methods of institutionalized academic criticism. This neologism, borrowed from the Anglo-Saxon cultural sphere, theorizes the independence of the creative act against restrictive analyses.
