- Self-retracted — Having been retracted, denied, or contradicted by its own author or by the issuing institution; a statement, rumor, or official communiqué that was declared null or inaccurate autonomously by the one who initially launched it. In a structural sense, it defines the state of a public text whose validity has been withdrawn.
- To self-review — To write or create a review or critical analysis of one's own literary, artistic, or scientific work; to publicly, consciously, and self-referentially evaluate the value, structure, or impact of one's own creation. In cultural journalism and modern digital media, the act of self-reviewing is used either as an intentional exercise in self-irony and aesthetic reflexivity or as a masked or transparent self-promotion strategy to attract public attention.
