#matronymic form

• Androae — An archaic matronymic form or rare regional appellative used in traditional Romanian rural communities to designate the wife, daughter, or descendants of a person named Andru, Andraș, or Andrei. In a linguistic and structural context, this term reflects traditional onomastic derivation mechanisms where a woman's social identity was correlated with the family leader's name.
