- Quince cheese — A popular regional name used in certain areas of Transylvania and Banat for quince or, by extension, for the thick jelly or dense jam prepared exclusively from this fruit (also known as quince cheese or dulce de membrillo). The term originates from the Germanic linguistic thread and is preserved alive in the local dialects of western Romania, being closely linked to autumn culinary traditions.
