- Becoming abulic — The hypothetical action or progressive process of becoming abulic, representing the gradual onset of volitional loss and the erosion of executive capacity under the influence of traumatic, toxic, or environmental factors. Although the term is not fully established in traditional medical dictionaries (where descriptive forms are preferred), it appears sporadically in contemporary psychological essays or socio-cultural analyses to define the phenomenon of alienation and mechanization of the modern individual.
- Opium — 1. A milky juice with potent narcotic and analgesic properties, extracted by incising green seed capsules of the opium poppy; opium. 2. A historical or popular name for the poppy plant itself. 3. Metaphorically, a state of deep lethargy, torpor, or mental numbness.
- Antisoporific — Counteracting, preventing, or eliminating drowsiness, lethargy, and torpor; a pharmacological substance or natural stimulant compound that induces alertness, keeping the body awake by blocking receptors responsible for sleep induction. Broadly, it refers to any external stimulus or activity that boosts mental vigilance and eliminates chronic fatigue.
- Apathy — A state of insensibility, total indifference, absence of interest, and emotional reactions toward the external world or oneself. In philosophy (stoicism), it represents the moral ideal of freeing the soul from passions (apatheia); in medicine, it is a symptom characteristic of depression, extreme exhaustion, schizophrenia, or frontal lobe lesions.
- Drowsiness — A state of light physical and mental lethargy, characterized by drowsiness, numbing of the senses, or pleasant laziness, often preceding deep sleep or accompanying slow awakening; somnolence. Secondarily, it can denote the continuous release of a pleasant aroma.
