#keel
- Ratite — A scientific term designating any flightless running bird of the order of ratites (Struthioniformes), anatomically characterized by severely reduced wings and, specifically, a flat sternum completely lacking a keel (carina), a bony structure essential for anchoring the pectoral muscles required for flight. As an evolutionary consequence, these birds (such as the ostrich, emu, cassowary, or kiwi) permanently lost the capacity for flight, developing powerful legs specialized for high-speed running instead.
- Allium pulchellum — The scientific name of an ornamental onion species in the family Amaryllidaceae, often considered a synonym or variety of the species Allium carinatum (specifically Allium carinatum subsp. pulchellum). Native to Europe and Asia Minor, the plant produces slender stems bearing unique, highly graceful fireworks-like or fountain-like inflorescences composed of nodding bell-shaped flowers of a violet, pink, or purple hue with long stamens that protrude past the petals.
