#juncaceae

• Anthela — A special type of compound cymose inflorescence, specific to certain monocotyledonous plants of the Juncaceae or Cyperaceae families (such as the genus Juncus). Its structure is characterized by the fact that the lateral secondary axes (lower branches) are longer than the main central axis, overtopping it and giving the inflorescence a spread umbel-like or paniculate appearance.
• The anthelae — The dative-genitive singular form or the articulated plural form for the technical noun antelă, describing a type of compound inflorescence where the secondary axes overtop the main axis. The term is used within plant taxonomy papers to analyze the structural setup of specific juncaceous inflorescences.
