#ionization
- Air ionization — A natural or artificial process through which gas molecules within the air composition are transformed into air ions (electrically charged); in medicine and balneology, it represents the therapeutic use of air controlledly enriched with ions (especially negative ones) to relieve respiratory, cardiovascular, or stress conditions.
- Alphatron — A device or laboratory instrument historically used in experimental nuclear physics and electronics for measuring the pressure of extremely rarefied gases (vacuum gauge), operating on the basis of gas molecule ionization by alpha particles emitted from an integrated radioactive source. By extension, the term refers to a type of gas-discharge electron tube used in the early decades of computing technology for voltage stabilization or detection of suprasegmental radiation.
