#insect wings
- Axillaries — A specialized term rarely used to describe structural elements, small hairs, scales, or secondary shoots arranged in clusters within the leaf axils or at the junction of main plant veins. In entomology, it can designate microscopic sclerotized pieces (axillaries) that provide the articulation and delicate folding of the wings at the base of the insect's thorax, ensuring perfect balance during flight.
