- Iron hoop — An extremely rare regional form, attested in isolated areas of Transylvania or Banat, designating an old blacksmith tool, a metal connecting piece for traditional wagons, or, by extension from German, a steel rail or hoop used to reinforce wooden wheels. Lacking wide modern usage, the term survives exclusively in ethnographic archives and local dialect glossaries.
- Fire steel — A small piece of hardened steel, varying in shape, historically used in households to strike sparks from a flint stone in order to ignite tinder or tinderbox sulfur. Figuratively, regionally, or archaically, the term can describe a mechanical support or an iron hook used in traditional wagons.
