- Albaiu — The name of an important mountain peak (Albaiu Peak) and a major mountain ridge located in the Baiului (Gârbova) Mountains massif within the Southern Carpathians, Romania. The area represents a sought-after tourist destination for mountain hiking, offering distinct structural panoramas over the Prahova Valley and the Bucegi massif.
- Alpenstock — A long, sturdy wooden staff equipped at the lower end with a sharp metallic spike (ferrule), used in the past by mountaineers and hikers as an essential structural support during ascents on steep slopes, glaciers, or rugged terrains. In modern mountain equipment, this traditional tool has been gradually replaced by ice axes and telescopic trekking poles.
- Hitchhiking — An informal and often free (or low-cost) method of travel, whereby a person requests transport along a route by signaling with their hand (usually with a raised thumb) to drivers traveling in the same direction. This social phenomenon reflects a form of solidarity-based mobility widely found in youth tourism or areas with poor public transport.
- Babia Gora — The highest mountain massif in the Western Beskids range, located on the border between Poland and Slovakia, with a maximum altitude of 1725 meters at the Diablak peak. The region is famous for its extreme and highly unpredictable weather conditions, being internationally protected as a UNESCO biosphere reserve due to its intact alpine and subalpine ecosystems.
