- Halotherapy — A therapeutic or balneological method consisting of the medical use of saline mineral waters, sapropelic muds, or the microclimate of endorheic lakes and salt basins for the purpose of treating or alleviating dermatological, rheumatic, and respiratory disorders; a structural treatment based on the chemical and thermal properties of mineral salts dissolved in natural basins. This type of cure combines the benefits of saline osmosis with those of local climatotherapy to stimulate cell regeneration and peripheral circulation.
