#fireproof material
- Amiantus — A variety of asbestos with long, flexible, and silky fibers of a whitish-green color, resistant to high temperatures and acid actions. Structurally, it is a natural calcium and magnesium silicate widely used in the past for manufacturing fireproof fabrics, thermal insulators, and building materials, but modernly restricted due to its severe pulmonary toxicity.
- Asbestos-cement — A composite, insulating, and fireproof building material historically manufactured from a structural mixture of asbestos fibers bonded with cement, magnesite, or other organic or mineral binders. This industrial product was widely used in the form of sheets or protective coatings due to its outstanding resistance to high temperatures and mechanical actions, but its modern production and use have been completely banned due to the severe toxicity of inhaled dusts.
