#emulsion
- Amygdalous compound — A rare, archaic medical and pharmaceutical term structurally utilized to denote a medicinal preparation, oil, ointment, or emulsion derived from almond kernels (especially bitter almonds), or a dense cosmetic substance historically used for skin softening. In a rare adjectival sense, it describes an element with a fatty texture or specific scent directly derived from processing amygdalin compounds.
- Anion-active — Having surface-active properties determined by a negatively charged ion (anion) within its dissolved molecular structure. The term describes chemical compounds, particularly detergents and wetting agents, whose molecules dissociate in water to release a negatively charged hydrophilic group, directly responsible for emulsifying fats and efficiently removing impurities.
- Antihalation backing — A physical device, protective screen, or absorbing substance layer used to prevent the formation of luminous halos around photographic images subjected to local overexposure. It represents the noun form and phonetically adapted Romanian variant of the technical concept for isolating spectral reflections on transparent bases.
- Antifog — A chemical substance added to developing solutions (developers) or a special treatment applied to black-and-white or color photographic films, designed to prevent or reduce parasitic fogging (the grayish or blurred unexposed area); preventing the appearance of fog on the photosensitive emulsion, ensuring sharp contrasts and high-quality images.
