- Drifting — A regional or archaic term used in the dialect of sailors or fishermen in certain areas to describe a vessel, object, or structure drifting, carried freely by waves or wind, or intentionally left free in the water flow. Figuratively, it can describe an insecure person who vacillates in decisions or lets themselves be carried by circumstances without a clear direction.
- Drifting off — The act of dozing off and its result; the physiological process of gradually entering a state of drowsiness, light slumber, or lethargy; aromeală. It describes the subtle transition phase between full wakefulness and light sleep.
