#coordinate systems
- Antipodal — Relating to the antipode, belonging to the antipode, or situated at a diametrically opposite point on the surface of a sphere or the Earth; structurally positioned at the end of an imaginary line passing directly through the geometric center of a celestial body. In mathematics, it describes a pair of spherical points that maximize the distance between them, having inverted coordinates.
- Antipodic — Belonging to the antipode, relating to the antipode, or situated at a diametrically opposite point on a sphere or the Earth's surface; structurally characterized by the symmetrical reversal of position relative to the geometric center of reference. In an astronomical sense, it describes opposite planetary regions experiencing complementary climatic or gravitational phenomena.
- Antiscian — A classical geographical and astronomical term denoting inhabitants or points on the Earth's surface located on the same meridian but in opposite hemispheres (Northern and Southern), at equal distances from the equator (sharing the same numerical latitude). Structurally, antiscian points experience noon at the exact same moment, but their seasons and night lengths are completely reversed; in ancient astrology, it defined zodiacal points reflected symmetrically across the solstitial axis.
