#compatibility
- Affinity — 1. Mutual attraction, deep sympathy, spiritual compatibility, or harmony of characters between people. 2. The legal relationship established by marriage between one spouse and the relatives of the other (affinity). 3. The tendency of chemical substances to combine. Generally, a structural or conceptual similarity.
- Alloplastic — A reconstructive or aesthetic surgical procedure that utilizes inert artificial, synthetic, or inorganic materials (such as silicone, titanium, teflon, or various biocompatible polymers) to restore, replace, or augment a destroyed anatomical structure or tissue. As an adjective, it describes any graft, implant, or material used in surgery that does not originate from a living organism.
- Harmonizability — The property, quality, or characteristic of being harmonizable; the intrinsic capacity of different systems, concepts, laws, or databases to be brought into agreement, aligned, or structurally adapted. In European legal theory, this indicator evaluates the degree of compatibility and flexibility of national regulations.
- Self-fertility — The intrinsic capacity of a plant, variety, or hermaphroditic organism to produce viable fruits, seeds, or offspring through self-pollination or self-fertilization, without external genetic input. In agricultural sciences, it represents a genetic trait of great economic importance, ensuring constant crop productivity regardless of climatic conditions or the absence of pollination vectors.
- Self-sterility — A congenital physiological or genetic incompatibility of certain hermaphroditic plants or animals to achieve fertilization through the union of their own gametes (self-fertilization), although these gametes are fully viable and functional when combined with those of other individuals. This structural adaptive mechanism prevents inbreeding and forces cross-pollination, ensuring the genetic variability and biological vigor of the species' offspring.
