#compaction
- Acronymy — A modern linguistic process or morphological mechanism of vocabulary enrichment whereby new words (acronyms) are created from the combination of the initial syllables or letters of a complex syntactic structure. The term also defines the tendency or state of a functional style (such as technical-scientific or journalistic) to overuse telescoped shortcuts and abbreviations to ensure rapid message transmission.
- Agglomeration — The act of gathering or accumulating and its result; a large crowding, accumulation, or concentration of people, vehicles, buildings, or objects within a limited or specified space. In metallurgy and geology, it represents a technological or natural process of consolidating fine particles into larger lumps through heat treatment or structural pressing.
- Anadiagenesis — An intermediate or deep stage within the general process of diagenesis, characterized by intense structural physicochemical transformations of sediments buried at great depths under increased temperatures and pressures, without reaching metamorphism. This phenomenon involves the recrystallization of clay minerals, massive compaction, deep dehydration, and cementation of interstitial fluids, leading to the definitive lithification of sedimentary rocks.
- Compaction — The act of compacting or pressing and its result; a physical process of ramming, squeezing, or tightly packing a substance or bulk material, carried out to reduce its volume or increase its structural density. It appears exclusively in local dialects of certain rural communities.
- Self-agglomeration — A spontaneous phenomenon or process whereby fine particles of a material, metallic powders, or mineral grains gather and compact on their own under the action of intermolecular forces, humidity, self-pressure, or electrostatics, forming aggregates or compact blocks without the addition of an external artificial binder.
- Garbage truck — A heavy-duty vehicle, specially fitted with a hermetically sealed body and equipped with a hydraulic mechanism for loading, compacting, and unloading, used by urban sanitation services for collecting and transporting household waste to landfills or recycling centers.
