#cognitive processes
- Apperceive — To experience or perform apperception; to consciously assimilate and interpret a new sensation, idea, or experience through previously stored knowledge and mental representations. Unlike simple organic perception, this action involves the active participation of attention, memory, and reason.
- Deepen — An etymological or bookish spelling variant for the verb 'a aprofunda'; the act of studying a problem, science, or theme thoroughly, exhaustively, and in depth, going beyond superficial aspects. This cognitive process involves advanced structural analysis, research into obscure details, and a full understanding of the internal mechanisms of the investigated subject.
- Associationism — A psychological and philosophical doctrine according to which mental life, higher cognitive processes, and human knowledge are entirely explained by the combination, fusion, and succession of simple mental elements (sensations, ideas, or images) through the laws of association. This movement, historically developed by British empiricists such as John Locke and David Hume, claims that the complex mechanisms of memory and thought derive from connections established on the basis of contiguity, similarity, or contrast.
