#brutalization

• brutalization — The action of becoming brutalized and its result; the progressive loss of intellectual faculties, sensitivity, and moral dignity; profound psychological and behavioral degradation.
• Animalization — The act of animalizing and its result; a social, psychological, or cultural process through which a human being or a group of people loses the specific attributes of humanity (such as reason, empathy, morality, or dignity) and degrades to a purely instinctual or biological level. In historical analyses, the term often describes dehumanization techniques intentionally applied to captive populations to nullify their capacity for rebellion and organization.
