#bow direction

• Bow-ward — An old maritime term or technical archaism of Mediterranean origin used as a direction indicator on board ships, meaning 'towards the prow', 'forward', or 'in the direction of the bow'; it indicates the orientation of an object, a maneuver, or a movement toward the front part of a vessel, in structural opposition to the sternward direction.
• Bow-ward — A condensed orthographic and phonetic variant of the adverbial term amproor, utilized in traditional maritime jargon to indicate the direction toward the prow or front of a ship; a command or spatial orientation indicator on board vessels, aimed at guiding the crew in executing mooring or anchoring maneuvers.
