• Acutus — A scientific, medical, or Latin term used directly in taxonomy, anatomy, or pathology to describe a sharp structure, a prominent terminal organ, or a clinical phase of critical intensity. It frequently appears in the binominal names of plant or insect species that exhibit sharp anatomical features or in archaic clinical formulas taken directly from classical medical terminology.
