#binocular vision
- Aniseikonia — A binocular visual condition or anomaly characterized by an inequality in the size or shape of the retinal images formed in each of the two eyes; an academic and orthographic variant of aniseikonia. Due to this size discrepancy, the brain faces major difficulties fusing the images into a single three-dimensional projection, leading to eyestrain, diplopia, or severe headaches.
- Anisophoria — A latent form of strabismus or heterophoria in which the angle of deviation of the visual axes varies depending on the direction of the gaze. This ocular neuromuscular anomaly manifests as asymmetrical positioning of the eyes when binocular fusion is interrupted, causing marked visual fatigue, headaches, or spatial orientation difficulties in patients looking toward the extremes.
