- Baeckeoffe — A traditional gastronomic dish from the Alsace region (France), originally known as 'Baeckeoffe', consisting of a structural mix of three marinated meats (pork, beef, and mutton or lamb) slow-cooked for several hours alongside sliced potatoes, onions, and leeks in a clay casserole sealed with dough. Its name literally translates to 'baker's oven', as historically housewives left the dish at the local bakery to cook in the residual heat of the oven after bread baking.
