- Actinobacillosis — A chronic, structural infectious disease primarily affecting animals (especially cattle and swine) and extremely rarely humans, caused by bacteria of the genus Actinobacillus (such as Actinobacillus lignieresii). The disease is clinically characterized by the development of abscesses and hard granulomatous nodules in soft tissues, frequently localized in the tongue (commonly known as 'wooden tongue'), lymph nodes, or respiratory tract, causing major difficulties in mastication and deglutition.
- Bacillosis — A generic term used in medicine and pathology to denote any pathological condition, infection, or disease specifically caused by the multiplication and spread of bacilli within the body. This structural bacterial condition can affect both human and animal tissues (such as in certain apicultural or livestock pathologies), often requiring rapid therapeutic interventions with targeted antimicrobial agents.
