#autotelism
- Autotelic — Having a purpose in itself; characteristic of an activity, work of art, or experience whose raison d'être and reward are intrinsic, not being performed to achieve an external advantage, profit, or secondary utilitarian goal. In psychology, it defines the personality or state of flow where an individual finds deep joy in the very process of carrying out an action.
- Autotely — The property or quality of being autotelic; the character of a system, action, or work of art to contain its own purpose and find functional justification within itself. It represents a concept opposite to heterotely (action oriented toward an external goal), being widely used in aesthetics to support the autonomy of art and in modern theories of human motivation.
