#autohtonism

• Autochthonism — An ideological, cultural, and literary movement that emerged in the first half of the 20th century, characterized by the exclusive or primary promotion of local traditions, national specificity, and ancestral ethnic elements, in opposition to modernization trends and Western cultural borrowing. In the Romanian cultural sphere, this orientation emphasized the rural civilization as the core of national spirituality and authenticity.
