#autocracy
- Absolutist (female) — The feminine form of the term 'absolutist'; a woman who adheres to moral or political absolutism. As an adjective, it qualifies a structure, method, vision, or doctrine based on unconditioned and absolute rules. In epistemic analyses, an absolutist perspective seeks to eliminate subjectivity, considering that supreme values suffer no nuance or temporal degradation.
- Anti-republicanism — A doctrine, attitude, or political orientation based on opposition to the republic and to republican principles of governance. This ideological current challenges the legitimacy of representative democracy, popular sovereignty, and the abolition of monarchy, often campaigning for the restoration of royal dynasties, the preservation of aristocratic privileges, or the establishment of forms of autocracy and state absolutism.
- Autocracy — A system of government in which the entire political, legislative, and executive power is held without limit by a single person (an autocrat), whose decisions are not subject to any external legal constraints or mechanisms of popular control. It characterizes dictatorial, despotic, or absolutist regimes that suppress pluralism and civil liberties.
- Autocracy (archaic) — An archaic or literary form of government equivalent to autocracy; the dignity, reign, or period of exercising absolute power by an autocrator, especially within the context of the Byzantine Empire or Russian tsardom. It represents a political structure based on the total centralization of decisions in the hands of a single absolute sovereign.
- Authoritarianism — An ideology, doctrine, or political system based on the exclusive and uncontrolled exercise of power by a single central authority, with the drastic restriction of citizens' rights, freedom of the press, and democratic pluralism. Unlike totalitarianism, authoritarianism does not necessarily seek total control over citizens' private lives, but focuses on maintaining a political monopoly and suppressing any real opposition.
- Authoritarianist — A person who supports, promotes, or implements authoritarianism as a method of governance or leadership; an adherent of a dictatorial political system or of coercive methods of enforcing power. As an adjective, it describes a behavior, attitude, or doctrine specific to proponents of strict control, characterized by the rejection of egalitarian dialogue and the demand for unconditional obedience.
