#autobiography
- Anti-memoirs — An autobiographical work or avant-garde memorialistic trend that rejects traditional chronological structure, idealized retrospective character, and strict factual fidelity in favor of a subjective, fragmented, or essayistic reconstitution of the past; a literary concept historically launched by André Malraux. In a structural sense, the text deconstructs the myth of a coherent self and explores the plays of affective memory.
- Autobiography — A literary writing or historical document in which the author narrates their own life, presenting their personal, professional, and spiritual evolution. It is characterized by the total identity between the author, narrator, and main character.
- Self-portrait — A portrait of an artist (painter, sculptor, photographer) created by themselves; a self-referential visual representation wherein the creator analyzes their own physical features and inner psychological state through their own aesthetic lens. In literature, the term denotes a detailed and often critical description or psychological analysis that a writer makes of their own person within an autobiographical work.
- To portray oneself — To create one's own self-portrait; to describe or represent oneself in a detailed manner within a work of art, an autobiographical text, or a critical discourse. On a psychological and analytical level, it reflects the structural reflexive action through which a creator transposes their own identity, character traits, and inner dynamics into a fixed conceptual format, offering the public an assumed self-referential perspective.
