- Snag — The place, point, or loop where an object is suspended, secured, or caught onto a supporting element; snag. It also represents the defect, tear, or mark left on a fabric (garment, canvas) resulting from an accidental catch on a nail or roadside bramble. In old craftsmanship dialects, the term also referred to a temporary knot made by weavers to secure warp threads.
