#atheism
- Agnosticism — A philosophical doctrine or doctrine of epistemology holding that the existence of God, the divine, or the essential reality of things is unknowable or unprovable. It posits that human reason is inherently limited, thereby suspending definitive judgment on metaphysical and supernatural claims.
- Anti-Christianity — An ideological current, philosophical attitude, or social and political movement directed against Christianity, its dogmas, ecclesiastical institutions, or Christian believers. This historical phenomenon includes diverse manifestations, from imperial persecutions in the early centuries to radical secular currents or state atheism policies in the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century.
- Anti-religious — Opposed to religion, dogmas, or cult practices; directed against religious sentiment and church institutions. The term describes manifestations, discourses, political regimes, or philosophical currents that criticize or suppress expressions of faith, campaigning for radical secularization, state atheism, or the deconstruction of theological myths in favor of pure reason or science.
- Atheophobia — A morbid fear, obsessive, irrational, and persistent aversion toward atheist individuals, atheism, or the concept of the absence of a deity. In a broad sociological or psychological sense, the term describes a form of ideological intolerance or deep religious prejudice, where the individual experiences anxiety, hostility, or panic when faced with secular arguments, perceiving non-religiosity as a direct threat to the moral order.
- Atheism — A school of thought or philosophical position characterized by the absence of belief in the existence of a deity, or by the explicit, reasoned denial of God and any supernatural forces. Unlike agnosticism (which views the divine as unknown or unknowable), atheism is structurally founded on rationalism, scientific materialism, and the explanation of the universe through empirically verifiable natural laws.
- Atheist — A male individual who does not believe in the existence of God or any deity, rejecting religious dogmas and cults in favor of a rational or materialist worldview. As an adjective, it describes a person, attitude, or school of thought pertaining to atheism, grounding the analysis of the universe on natural laws and promoting freethought.
- Atheistic — Pertaining to atheism or atheist individuals, specific to atheism; characterized by the denial of God's existence or by the promotion of secular principles. The term applies primarily to describe philosophical systems, literary works, ideological trends, discourses, or historical periods defined by the structural and militant rejection of religious elements.
- Atheism (correct form) — An incorrect, archaic, or foreign spelling variant for the philosophical and sociological term 'ateism' (atheism). It represents a common drafting error caused by the phonetic influence of the voiced sibilant pronunciation or confusion with the orthography of other languages (such as Polish, Turkish, or Russian, where the concept is written with 'z'). In regulated contemporary Romanian, the only form accepted by academic standards is spelled with 's'.
- Atheist — A person who does not believe in the existence of God, divinities, or any supernatural force; an adherent of atheism. As an adjective, the term qualifies an idea, speech, philosophy, or society that completely denies or excludes the divine factor from explaining the world and the origins of the universe.
