#astroblast
- Astroblast — An undifferentiated embryonic cell derived from the neuroectoderm, which constitutes the direct precursor stage in the development of astrocytes (glial cells with a supporting and nutritional role in the central nervous system). In the context of oncological pathology, the term is closely related to astroblastoma, a rare brain tumor characterized by the abnormal proliferation of these primitive cells in nervous tissue.
- Astroblastoma — A rare neuroepithelial brain tumor of glial origin, characterized by the abnormal proliferation of astroblasts (embryonic precursor cells of astrocytes). This type of neoplasm develops predominantly in the cerebral hemispheres of children and young adults, displaying on histological examination a characteristic arrangement of tumor cells in the form of perivascular rosettes or pseudorosettes, with cytoplasmic extensions anchored to the vessel walls.
