#asteria
- Asteria — A variety of precious gemstone (especially sapphire or ruby) which, due to fine acicular rutile inclusions in its structure, exhibits the optical phenomenon of asterism (a luminous six- or twelve-rayed star visible upon light reflection); in a historical zoological sense, it represents an ancient genus or reference to fossil starfish or marine radiate organisms of the Asteroidea class.
- Astrenie — A rare onomastic or hagiographical variant, historically used in Romanian church manuscripts as a local adaptation for the feminine proper name Asteria or to denote an abstract regional form linked to stellar-astral influence in popular beliefs. In a religious context, it can refer to Saint Asteria (Astrenie), a virgin and martyr from the early Christian centuries, commemorated in synaxaria.
- Astrophytum asterias — An endemic species of small succulent plants within the Astrophytum genus (Cactaceae family), with a globose, flattened stem completely lacking spines, typically divided into exactly 8 flat, regular ribs. Its greenish-grey surface is decorated with numerous trichomes (microscopic white dots made of tiny hairs), featuring large, woolly areoles in the center from which yellow flowers with a red-orange center emerge; it is a protected species, endangered in its native habitat of Mexico and Texas.
