• Aspropotamos — The complete and official Greek form of the hydronym Aspropotamos (The Great White River); currently used also to denote a former municipality, now a mountainous municipal unit in the Trikala regional unit, Thessaly region, Greece. The area is famous for its traditional stone villages, virgin fir forests, and well-preserved Aromanian (Vlach) cultural heritage.
