- Arieșeni — A commune and famous tourist resort of local interest located in Alba County, Transylvania, Romania, situated at the border between the Bihor Mountains and the Codru-Moma Mountains, on the upper valley of the Arieșul Mare River. The locality is structurally recognized as an important mountain center for winter sports (due to the Vârtop ski slopes), and as a starting point for spectacular trails toward caves, gorges, and waterfalls in the Apuseni Natural Park.
