#argatel

• Young servant — A diminutive form of the noun 'argat' (hired servant), used in the past to denote a very young servant, a shop boy, or a family helper hired at a rural household for light agricultural or domestic chores. In a literary and folkloric sense, the term often carries an affectionate or compassionate connotation, reflecting the socio-economic vulnerability of minors in pre-modern feudal and rural structures.
