#arecaceae shrub

• Blunt-leaved sugar palm — A medium-sized palm species in the family Arecaceae, native to the low-altitude tropical rainforests of Malaysia, Sumatra, and Java, commonly known as the blunt-leaved sugar palm. In a structural-botanical sense, Arenga obtusifolia is distinguished by multiple stems (clumping/cespitose growth), rigid pinnate leaves whose leaflets feature a characteristically jagged or obtuse apex, and an ecological preference for shaded areas and humid valleys, forming dense thickets that stabilize alluvial soils.
