#archaic botany
- Citrus — An archaic or regional botanical term used to denote a shrub or fruit tree from the Citrus genus, or a sour-bitter fruit belonging to the citrus family; as an adjective, it describes a sharp, sour, or astringent taste characteristic of unripe fruits. In modern taxonomy, the term has been structurally integrated and replaced in common usage by the collective derivative 'citrus'.
- Ampelideous — A rare singular form used historically as an adjective to describe a taxon, an anatomical feature, or a plant belonging to or structurally related to the Ampelidaceae or Ampelideae family (grapevine). In old agronomic works, the term could also designate an individual from a wild plantation or a climbing liana with similar morphological traits.
