• Appendicostomy — A surgical procedure consisting of bringing the vermiform appendix to the surface of the abdominal wall and opening it to create a therapeutic stoma (also known as the Malone procedure). This technique is utilized to allow anterograde enemas directly into the colon in cases of chronic fecal incontinence or severe neurogenic constipation.
