• Aponeurectomy — A surgical intervention consisting of the resection, excision, or partial to total removal of an aponeurosis that is thickened, retracted, or affected by a pathological process of fibrosis. This operative procedure is frequently applied to release muscular tension or correct deformities, such as in treating Dupuytren's contracture in the hand or in acute compartment syndromes.
