• Apogametic — Pertaining to apogamy or specific to developmental processes without syngamy; characterized by genetic and structural properties identical to those of the maternal gametophyte from which the sporophyte directly originates. In advanced plant genetics, the term describes cell lines or offspring resulting from a modified reproductive pathway that maintains the haploid or unchanged chromosome number.
