#apiro
- Apyro- — A neological first element of composition (combining form) extracted from ancient Greek, used in scientific, chemical, and medical terminology to introduce a structural reference to the absence of fire, fever, or high thermal processes (e.g., apyrogen, apyrometer).
- Pyrogen-free — Apyrogenous or pyrogen-free; not producing fever, describing a substance, infusible solution, or sterile medical preparation that is completely free of pyrogens (bacterial or chemical agents capable of inducing a febrile reaction in human or animal bodies upon injection). It is a mandatory trait for all fluids administered intravenously.
