#antefixa
- Antefix — A decorative architectural element, sculpted from terracotta, stone, or marble, fixed at the edge of a classical roof (Greek, Etruscan, or Roman). This vertical ornament is placed at the end of tile rows to mask the joints of the roof tiles and to protect the wooden framework against water infiltration, often decorated with palmettes, gorgon heads, or mythological motifs.
