#anonymous author

• Anonymus — A generic name attributed to an author, chronicler, or scribe whose real identity remains unknown or undocumented in historical sources. In the context of Central European and Romanian historiography, the term often refers to the notary of King Béla III of Hungary, author of the Gesta Hungarorum chronicle, a fundamental work attesting to the existence of the earliest Romanian state formations in the intra-Carpathian region.
