• Annals — An historical writing in which events are structurally recorded year by year, in strict chronological order, without a deep critical or philosophical analysis of causes; a yearly historical chronicle. In a modern sense, the term designates the title of certain scientific or academic periodical publications, edited by universities and learned societies to present annual research.
