#anglicization
- Anglicization — The action of anglicizing or the structural process through which a linguistic element, a proper name, a community, or a custom adopts well-defined characteristics specific to the English language or Anglo-Saxon culture. In modern lexicology, it represents the phonetic, orthographic, and morphological adaptation of foreign borrowings to English rules or, conversely, the assimilation of English vocabulary into the structures of other languages.
